A properly installed walkway or interlocking surface should hold up for decades through GTA winters. Here are the four things we get right on every installation:
PAVER STYLE & MATERIAL
From standard concrete pavers to premium natural stone, porcelain, and permeable eco-pavers, the material selected directly impacts cost per square foot. Thicker, larger-format, and specialty pavers carry higher price points.
AREA SIZE & SHAPE
Straight rectangular installations are more efficient to lay than curved, angled, or multi-zone designs. Total square footage is the primary driver of material quantity, and complex shapes require additional cutting and fitting time.
BASE EXCAVATION DEPTH
GTA frost lines require a deep, properly compacted granular base for year-round performance. Rocky or clay soil conditions, significant tree roots, or an inadequate existing sub-base increase excavation difficulty and cost.
EDGE RESTRAINTS & BORDERS
