Pools We Design
Vinyl vs Fiberglass vs Concrete vs ICF
There are four main types of pools in Canada. Each has its own installation process, benefits, and maintenance requirements.
-
Vinyl pools are the most popular. They are constructed using a frame made of galvanized steel and concrete with a vinyl liner overtop. these pools can be customized with different colours, patterns, and shapes. they are simple to maintain with the right knowledge. With liner pools, you get the option to change the liner at your leisure, should you want to give your pool a facelift. Note that sharp objects can cause punctures in the liner.
- Fiberglass pools are the quickest and easiest to install. They come in a pre-formed shell with various models and features. Their gel coat makes them more durable against sharp objects since they cannot be punctured. This type of pool is also low maintenance, like a liner pool, as it is non-porous and resistant to algae growth.
-
Concrete pools are the most luxurious, most durable, and most customizable. They are the most expensive due to their building process, however, this is outweighed by their longevity and endless customization options, as they can be built in any shape or size. They also require more maintenance (including regular cleaning and resurfacing) than other types of pools, as they are susceptible to algae growth.
- Insulated concrete form (ICF) pools are insulated concrete pools in a nutshell. The efficiency of ICF pools is better than concrete and you have the option to use a liner, giving you the opportunity to facelift your pool in the future. These pools are relatively inexpensive compared to concrete pools, saving you both time and money on the construction process.

Pool Installation Cost Factors
There are four major factors that could affect the cost of your new pool. These factors include:
- Type of pool
Vinyl, fiberglass, concrete, and ICF pools all have different price ranges, which can be viewed in the chart (above). - Size of pool
The larger the pool, the more materials, transportation considerations, labour, and so on, need to be evaluated. - Equipment Used
There are lower and higher-end equipment options that will affect the cost, like automation, lights, and water features. - Accessibility
Depending on the size of your walkway and yard, it may be difficult to maneuver machines. If more back-and-forth trips are required, costs will be higher to compensate for added time and labour.
